Statement / Ana Bonamico
Public art installation / The Hidden Pearl
At the heart of the public space, in the center of Bal Harbour, an oyster opens.
Not to reveal an external jewel, but to invite us to look within.
The work of Ana Bonamico reflects on the feminine as a territory of memory and preservation. Like oysters that turn a wound into a pearl, women carry within themselves fragments of the world, memories, gestures, moments , those invisible gems that make us shine.
The installation is conceived as a body that both holds and protects.
A monumental sculpture inhabiting the urban landscape, reminding us that art, too, can be a refuge, an echo, and a mirror.
Placed in a public setting, the piece opens a dialogue between intimacy and collectivity, bringing art closer to everyday life, and restoring to the street its ritual, sensitive, and shared power.
